We feel that energy comes from the fact that everybody there, both guests and employees, want to be there, love to be there. It's a good feeling. Come by and visit! Caff?a Strada began in January 1994 by 2 partners, one a silent investor, the other the managing partner. Within a year it became obvious that the managing partner was stealing all of the profits from the silent partner. Enter Lisa Ramelow, the daughter of the silent partner. He asked her if she would help him fix the situation. Lisa's only restaurant experience was as a teenager working one month as a hostess at Alphy's, a former coffee shop in Long Beach. When the opportunity arose to take over Caff?a Strada, she was taking a break from her 8 year career of working as a software engineer at Rockwell in order to care for her 2 small children After many a legal battle, the restaurant fell to her father and she agreed to run it, buying him out a few years later.
